Special Preconditioning Requirements for Mini-Blocks & A-OK's - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Grodan has received a recent report indicating that some isolated batches of MM-50/40 (2" Mini-Blocks) and 40/40 (1.5" Mini-Blocks) may contain a higher than normal surface tension and will take longer to initially saturate.  A-OK’s may possibly share a similar surface tension although no reports have been received to date.  For this reason, for both MM’s and A-OKs we recommend the following.

  • To precondition Mini-Blocks (or A-OKs), you must carefully follow our standard instructions and allow the product to sink to the bottom of the tank before inserting cuttings (or seeds). This is the only way to ensure complete saturation.
  • Once fully saturated these products hold the same amount of water and will perform equally as well as other Grodan products.
  • Rest assured, Grodan's Mini-Blocks meet Grodan's factory production specifications and will yield the same high performance as Grodan users have come to expect.

These minor hiccups are due to strategic adjustments at the new Grodan factory. However, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
