Pargro® is the ideal growing media for indoor growers who are interested in switching from coco or peat. With Pargro, growers who prefer an easy to use substrate can leverage Grodan’s 50+ years of excellence in stone wool growing media innovation.

With Pargro and Grodan, making the switch to stone wool growing media is easy:

  • Proven Pargro stone wool growing media
  • Real time insights with GroSens and e-Gro
  • Grodan’s dedicated account managers and expert crop advisors provide regular support

Clean

Grodan growing media is designed to be clean and hygienic from the factory to the grow room

Clean and easy to handle and use, doesn’t break down and clog irrigation systems

Pest and disease free (basalt rock is melted at 2,700 degrees) thus less plant protection products needed

Able to re-use drain from the  f irst flush – no tannins, sodium  or potassium to leach in the  f irst flush

Control

Grodan’s total solutions with stonewool growing media, GroSens and e-Gro are designed to give the grower more control of their cannabis crops

Better plant balance thus less sensitive to disease

Better dry back

Less water usage

GroSens and e-Gro provide unparalleled insights to your rootzone and critical climate conditions

Grodan’s expert Crop Specialists provide support and guidance combined with Grodan’s 50+ years of expertise in precision growing

Consistent

Grodan is designed to be uniform and consistently high quality

Uniform stonewool fibres and density result in fast, even rooting in and uniform plant development

More uniform WC and EC distribution over the height of the product so crop development is optimized

Consistent, uniform plant development is easier to manage from a labour perspective

Benefits of Stonewool

High tech industrial manufacturing process ensures consistency in product quality

• Not dependent on production location and weather conditions

• Local manufacturing ensures shorter lead times and reduces the   carbon footprint by eliminating ocean shipping

• No risk of contamination in the production process

All nutrient elements are available to the crop

• No Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC)

• No bu ering needed

• Easier drain water disinfection

• Lower concentrations of Plant Protection  Products (PPP) needed

In CATE trial it is proved that Grodan is 28% more e cient as yield/liter of growing media volume compared to coco peat

• Twice the amount of available water per litre of growing media

• WC% can be steered by varying irrigation volume and frequency

High level of uniformity

• The high tech stone wool production process, in combination with our industry   leading wetting agents ensures a high level of uniformity in WC and EC distribution over the height, especially when steering to low WC%

EC control with low drain volumes, thus protecting plant balance and root quality

• Important design criteria in Grodan stone wool for managing EC in hydroponic growing media especially with low energy growing

Grodan stone wool offers a wider range of generative or vegetative steering (WC% & EC), leading to:

With GroSens & e-Gro you can fine tune the irrigation strategy, important as we move in the direction of autonomous growing.
